Background

dr zenthoeferDr. Amanda Zenthoefer spent most of her childhood in Washington State; however, all of her family now lives in Colorado with her immediate family members living in Colorado Springs. A lifelong passion for working with children has brought her many opportunities to work with children, such as teaching classes at church and at Gymboree Play and Music. She had the opportunity to work as a missionary teacher for a year in Spain where she learned to speak Spanish.

Education

Dr. Zenthoefer received her bachelor’s degree in health science from Walla Walla University in Washington state where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. After college she moved on to receive her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University in southern California.

During her dental school education she frequently volunteered at local dental clinics and churches. She also volunteered for a local weeklong dental mission trip in an underserved area of Los Angeles. Dr. Zenthoefer was involved in many leadership roles: she served as a class representative for the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists and served as Editor-in-Chief of a quarterly publication sponsored by the American Student Dental Association. She graduated with pediatric honors from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry and was given the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry award for a promising future in pediatric dentistry.

Following dental school she was immediately accepted into the pediatric specialty residency at Loma Linda University. During her residency she continued to volunteer in community dental clinics and also served on a weeklong pediatric dental mission trip to Roatan, Honduras. Dr. Zenthoefer was Chief Resident, president of the Loma Linda University chapter of California Society of Pediatric dentistry, and graduated from Loma Linda University with a specialty in pediatric dentistry.

Specialty Courses

In addition to being certified in Basic Life Support, Dr. Zenthoefer has advanced training in Pediatric Advanced Life Support. She attends advanced courses to maintain her certification. She also attends courses locally and nationally to stay up-to-date on current topics and concepts.

Professional Organizations

Dr. Zenthoefer is a proud member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Colorado Dental Association. She is also Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

Practice Philosophy

Dr. Zenthoefer aims to give the highest quality dental care and provide a pleasant experience for each child. She believes her role as a pediatric dentist is to introduce children to a positive dental experience  that will last a lifetime.

Personal

Dr. Zenthoefer spends her free time traveling and getting outdoors with her husband, young son and daughter, and energetic dogs, Teva and Atlas. She also enjoys running, playing the piano, saxophone and singing.
