Dr. janelle Tonn
Background
Dr. Janelle Tonn spent most of her childhood in Michigan after her family returned from being missionaries on the small island of Pohnpeii. She always enjoyed teaching and worked through college coaching children’s gymnastics. She also enjoys volunteering and took a year off after college to write grants for a relief organization in Guinea, West Africa.
Education
Dr. Tonn earned her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Walla Walla University in Washington state. She graduated summa cum laude and went on to receive her doctor of dental surgery from Loma Linda University in southern California. She received the President’s Award at graduation from the president of the University for academic achievement and leadership and was inducted in the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. She also graduated with Honors in Pediatric Dentistry and received Academic Gold awards for performance on both part I and II of her national boards. Following her dental school training she was accepted immediately into the pediatric specialty residency at Yale University where she had opportunity to focus on children with special needs and rare disorders.
All throughout her dental training, she was involved in opportunities to help those in need of dental care. She volunteered on the Crest mobile dental unit to reach children in the community and regularly signed up for opportunities in local elementary schools to provide screening and care for children. During her final year in dental school, she was a member of a team that provided dental, medical, and surgical services to patients in rural Bangladesh
Specialty Courses
In addition to being certified in basic life support, she has advanced training in Pediatric Advanced Life Support. She stays aware of current advances in dentistry by serving on the board of the Seattle Study Club.

Dr. Tonn is proud to be a member of the American Dental Association, the Colorado Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Practice Philosophy
Dr. Tonn strives to provide the best care and experience to each child that she treats. She believes her role as a pediatric dentist is critical to making kid’s early dental experiences positive ones and making them great dental patients for life.
Personal
She and her husband, Pete, are parents to a beautiful daughter and son. Her family spends their time biking and climbing mountains with their three Australian Shepherds.
