Halloween Candy Buy Back          

November 1-7, 2011


During our Halloween Candy Buy Back Nov 1-7, we bought 357 pounds of candy!  We are partnering with Operation Gratitude to send care packages with new toothbrushes and all of the candy to our troops fighting overseas.  The kids helped prevent cavities, made some money, and gave something sweet to our troops.  Everyone who participated in the Candy Buy Back was entered into a drawing for a COOL PRIZES!  10 lucky kids took home great prizes thanks to the generosity of our friends at Burkhart Dental Supply and Phillips Sonicare.

We were proud to include thoughtful cards, letters and colorful pictures in the care packages, that the kids drew for the servicemen and women.

In addition to working with Operation Gratitude, we were happy to send personalized care packages directly to servicemen nominated by the kids who participated in the Buy Back program.

     Starlight Foundation March for Miracles 5K Run


 Starlight brings together experts from pediatric health care, technology and entertainment to create programs that brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families right here in Colorado. Starlight offers a comprehensive menu of outpatient, hospital-based offerings that enable us to provide support for children and families. Whether it's helping to pass long hours in a hospital, or learning more about a disease Starlight's programs help children and families cope with the challenges they face daily.

Rocky Mountain Pediatric Dentistry has proudly sponsored the March for Miracles 5K Run in both 2010 and 2011. We ran/walked/strolled for a very worthy cause.









                                    
 
 
More than 1,400 adults and children, who could not afford dental care, were provided with free oral healthcare services at the 2010 Colorado Mission of Mercy.
 
The fourth annual COMOM was held October 1 and 2 at the Phil Long Expo Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
 
In two days, an estimated 225 dentists and 125 hygienists provided $1.1 million in donated dental care.

                                                                Give Kids a Smile Day - February 5, 2010!
 
Give Kids a Smile Day (GKAS) was started eight years ago by the American Dental Association. It is the nation's largest proactive approach to help children from low income families with their dental needs, and to draw attention to the problem that many families face when trying to access basic dental care. GKAS takes place in every state, and Colorado is fortunate to boast one of the nation's success stories for this program.

         Since 1924, the Junior League of Colorado Springs has had a tradition of improving the Colorado Springs community by developing women leaders, supporting youth and family causes, and founding new organizations that address important community needs. On May 22, 2011, the RMPD team and our families helped sponsor the Reach Your Peak 4-Miler: a family-friendly run, walk & stroll, to benefit the Junior League of Colorado Springs' community service projects.
